Denise Schwab is an artist who works in the medium of film, video and photography. Through her work she expresses the ethereal and dreamlike “worlds” that exist beyond our waking consciousness.
After many years of working as a filmmaker in New York City Denise found that photography was a more accessible and immediate form of expression. Within a single frame she becomes a voyager into the infinity of the present moment. Her photography is not only her form of creativity but is her spiritual practice. In the body of work “Through the veil” her internal and external world becomes one. Her voice melds with in landscape and they speak through one another.
Denise holds a BA in Film/TV/Radio from Newhouse School of Communications in Syracuse University and spent several years studying at the International Center of Photography. She is currently obtaining her MA in the Arts and Consciousness program at JFK University where is she continues to explore the connection between art and spirituality.
Denise has exhibited in New York City, Berkeley and Santa Cruz. She is currently working on projects that are a hybrid of photography, mixed media and video art.
